This herb is an antirheumatic, antispasmodic, diaphoretic,
emmenagogue, nervine, tonic and vermifuge.
In other words it is great for women's problems such as cramps,
Leukorrhea, it can help start a period, and has been used
to help reduce a heavy menstrual flow.
It can help induce labor as well.
It can help with abdominal cramping and helps with headaches
and seizures.
This herb was used by the Native Americans and the first settlers
in the 19th century. They used it to induce labor, treat menstrual
cramps and to help with abdominal pain in both sexes.
The Iroquois used it to treat arthritis, the Mohegan to treat
urinary tract infections and the Cherokee used it as a tranquilizer.
In folk medicine it has been used to expel the afterbirth
and is suggested to take at the onset of labor pains.
*PRECAUTIONS: Should not be used during pregnancy,
and if nursing wait 12 hours after taking it before feeding
your infant. It can cause gastro intestinal irritation and
can interfere with existing angina therapy.
